Ultimately Ultimate

I came back with muscle aches, purple toenails, sore feet and sunburn. Oh, and ugly spots on my arms where the mud was on and the sun was tanning my skin. But not only that, i came back with experiences and learning points. Overall, this competition has allowed me to widen my sights on how you shouldnt judge people-they can be better than they look. Also, on how the weather and land conditions can do so much to affect a game.

Despite strong winds and a ‘field’, we managed to some up strong to overcome these elements. Well, it wasnt much of a field, more of a mud pool. It was the worse field ever, we couldnt even run properly. We would sink into the mud and it didnt help that speed was crucial in the game. My new boots are covered in mud! I dont know how im going to wash them. Ok, almost everyone was covered in mud.

My socks and boots. Ok, these were after they were cleaned a bit. Or else you cant even see a bit of gold.

Janice’s shoes and mine

We lost the first game and clearly, everyone was dejected. However, the game didnt stop there. Im glad everyone didnt give up and instead, gave their best. Teamwork and spirit! Well, NYP did great this time round.

Nan-Semi-pro 3rd place

Xi-Novice champions

Bei-Novice 3rd place

Congrats to all teams! Everyone won a medal and it was really a proud moment for us, and especially for me. It was my first team competition and the win was not easy to come by. It was tiring, and especially nerve-wrecking. Especially the last universal point in the Finals match. It was so exciting!

Well, of course a lot of people contributed. Not forgetting my team, Xi! We played a slow and steady game and each move and tactic was considered before implementing. Thanks a lot to TY, Dorries, Chris, Michael, Wayne, Eli, Janice, Josephine and Yuenlin! Oh, not forgetting C.S. and WeeKwan who were there to guide us through. We wouldnt have won without you guys around. I especially want to thank TY and Dorries, they really gave it their all and continued playing despite the fatigue. 2 thumbs up! I admire the spirit and the effort they gave.

And of course the captain, Chris, who played a spectacular game. Especially the layout d!

Plus, the dark horse-Michael. Well, he made everyone very kan cheong ah. But he delivered, so im relieved. Sorry, no ice cream. haha.

For myself, i think its time for a bit of self reflection. I was so nervous that i couldnt sleep the day before. Towards the end of the competition, i didnt know what i was doing, i was so lost. I realised my frisbee skills and tactics werent really good and were not maximized to the best i could.

More trainings to come, and more time to improve!

Oh yeaaah. forgot to say that this is taken from Dorries’ blog. Most impt thing in media, credit the sources!
